Julie Bradlow is a Partner at ASCENSION LAW, PLLC. Julie’s practice and background that encompasses federal, state and international tax planning, tax controversy and litigation, and employee benefits and executive compensation. She brings her broad-based subject matter and practical experience to bear to solve complex problems for her clients.
Julie has advised clients ranging from Fortune 50 companies to closely-held corporations and partnerships to high net worth individuals, in the aerospace, energy, financial services, manufacturing, construction, software, professional sports, and transportation sectors. She has counseled clients on a wide variety of federal, state and international tax and employee benefits matters, including planning, controversy and litigation, multinational acquisitions, restructurings and divestitures, corporate treasury matters, and executive compensation.
Julie earned her B.A. from Yale University and her J.D. from the University of Chicago Law School, where she was an Associate Editor of the University of Chicago Law Review. She also has attended executive education programs at Duke University’s Fuqua School of Business and the Aresty Institute of Executive Education at the Wharton School of the University of Pennsylvania. She began her legal career as a law clerk to the Honorable Michael S. Kanne, a judge on the United States Court of Appeals for the Seventh Circuit. She is admitted to practice in the states of North Carolina, Virginia and Illinois, and several federal courts.
Julie is a frequent writer and public speaker. She has presented to organizations such as Tax Executives Institute (“TEI”), the International Fiscal Association, Association of Corporate Counsel, and the Mecklenburg County Bar the chapter, regional and national level, and has contributed articles on tax issues to both print and online publications.
Julie is a past president of the Carolinas Chapter of TEI and served as Chapter Representative to Tel’s board of directors, as well as a Vice Chair of its IRS Administrative Affairs Committee. Julie is also a past president of the Southeast Benefits Education Network, formerly the Southern Employee Benefits Conference. She is a member of the Tax Sections of the American, North Carolina, Virginia, and Mecklenburg County Bar Associations, and belongs to many other professional groups.
In February 2017, Julie appeared as a contestant on the game show Jeopardy! She is on the board of the Junior League of Charlotte, Inc. Legacy Foundation and serves on the Foundation’s Investment Committee. Julie has also volunteered with the American Heart Association (“AHA”) for many years. She recently joined the AHA’s Circle of Red program and has been one of the Greater Charlotte Heart Walk’s top fundraisers. In the past, Julie has served as a board member and volunteer for a variety of other non-profit arts and community service organizations.
