Penny Hirsch is an associate at ASCENSION LAW who focuses on general civil litigation and family law matters. As a former 8th-grade math teacher, Penny is patient and engaging as she uses her critical thinking, problem-solving and communication skills to educate her clients and further their goals to achieve favorable outcomes.
Penny’s legal background covers a wide range of litigation matters, including commercial contract disputes, employment disputes, commercial and residential lease disputes, disputes involving cemeteries and funeral homes and other complex litigation matters. Penny has represented clients both in federal and state courts, arbitrations and mediations. Penny has represented corporate clients in whistleblower retaliation claims before the Occupational Safety and Health Administration, the Office of Administrative Law Judges, and the Administrative Review Board, including internal investigations, defense of claims, and settlement of claims through mediation. Penny also co-authored an article for the American Funeral Director magazine entitled “Checks & Balances: Tips for Avoiding Cremation Disputes.” Penny practiced law in New York City before relocating to Charlotte in 2006. In her free time, Penny enjoys camping, hiking, and listening to live music.
